Eleazar holds a recently completed work. We took this photo in 2002. He is one of the friendliest artists we know! And he really does love a good game of soccer with the boys !  

Eleazar Morales

Eleazar Morales, 24 years old, trained with his older brother Susano, who became highly skilled in painting eyes. Eleazar also mastered this key element of facial expression and insight into the soul, but he went further than his brother and applied it to playful animals. These are the animals we either know best - such as our personal pets or ones we might see in the street - or ones we would encounter only rarely, if ever - for instance, jungle animals such as the elephant, the taper, the wapati or the gnu.

Eleazar has an incredible talent for both. His carving technique renders highly expressive creatures, and his realistic or semi realistic painting style gives us animals who are so life-like that we feel as if we know them already.

Eleazar, an accomplished artist, lives in his own home (near Oaxaca) with his wife and two children. He work is an excellent investment, since he has a great talent, and the pieces are still inexpensive. His fame in years to come is virtually guaranteed.
